Can I help you, Sir?
Today We are presenting you the last version of the world-famous painting of Edouard Manet, “A Bar at the Folies-Bergere”, the last significant work of the great master:
At the first and world renown version of this masterpiece that depicts the famous cabaret Folie Bergere in Paris, one can see the beautiful barmaid Suzon. Having painted her, Edouard Manet realized that the bar in a nightclub is a lousy place for a young lady. Look at her sad eyes:
One can find the reason for her sadness in the mirror reflection behind her back: a mustached gentleman is asking her to give him definitely not a tangerine. Having in mind this scandalous fact, Manet painted another canvas and placed an honest, brave orange Cat instead of the poor girl. We were honored to be a model for this painting. We also have a mustache, and We are foolproof.
Can I help you, Sir? – We ask a mustached gentleman. And having a look at the honest, sincere Cat eyes, a gentleman says firmly: ” A glass of champagne please, and a couple of tangerines”. And no more of him!
Thus speaks Zarathustra the Cat
